The Mission for the inter-generational Infant Senior Sharing project is (1) to provide quality, affordable and developmentally appropriate child care for the infants and toddlers of low to moderate income parents in Englewood and the surrounding areas, and (2) provide and opportunity for older workers to utilize their skills on behalf of young parents and their children and help to create a nurturing, healthy environment for infants and toddlers.
The Infant-Toddler Day Care Center under the auspices of the Infant-Senior Sharing Project; Inc., became a reality on its opening day, November 27, 1989. Until then, it had been but a dream since 1981.
There was an unfulfilled need in the community on the part of low and moderate income families to have a place where their children could be cared for and fed during the day so that mothers could seek economic improvement through education and employment. Through the tireless efforts of many volunteers, community and church leaders, and with the ultimate help of the State, County and City governments, the Center became a functioning entity.
The Center provided an opportunity for our senior citizens to express and exercise their nurturing qualities while our teenagers learned self-discipline and job skills.
We are looking for certified instructors who are experienced with an early childhood education background and CDA certified.
